There are some bands which did their album in less time than that.
For example, Fatal Design by ENTWINE. It was done in Six weeks, Mika just rented a place and he worked on the idea of the album to be different from their work and so far it turned heavier than anything so far.
There is also other albums in the Spanish Rock Genre which get mixed feelings, some turned out magnificent while others just flopped in the creative process.
They might finish the album in a month from now and they will move to the Cover Design so it should not be as hard.

The one thing many will look foward to is if new material will be played at that Performance.

I just dont see what the big rush is, I just somehow get the feeling they are being rushed into producing another album by the record company ... they cancelled the American tour because of it and it just all seems a little rushed .... maybe I'm completely wrong but thats the impression I get.

Like PinkDarkBoi pointed out they only ever released 2 singles from Dark Light, most bands tend to get at least 4 singles out of an album and HIM have in the past easily.

I think I once read on Sarah and Vickys site that HIMs Warner contract demands higher sales with each album to one day they sell the amount of so and so unbelievable much albums, so I guess they wont get back to something too experimental just cause Hiili is back in the saddle once more.

i would love them to admit one day that the record company makes all the decisions about songs andthat they purely had to make something that the record likes....what other excuse could they have for making such crappy album unless Ville and HIM have really lost they're mojo, and all they're abilities to write/create decent songs give it up, you're best album has been and gone

That is the actual release of the Smashing Blumpkins release date.
The Vocalist decided to do it that way because he has something planned behind it.
I don't remember the name of the album, nor do I think it is a "comeback".
Sine Zwan and that other project already involved the same characters (not talking about the Solo album).

I have no idea of White Stripes schedule for their albums, honestly I never read, hear or see their catalog.
Yeah, their catalog is simple. That explains the structure most of the time.

Though a reason some musicians tend to do this sort of arrangement. Of doing an album in the course of solely a week(s) worth of material is because they feel it is fresher when the band gets together when they put all of their work and rehearse it to see what comes out of that.
