“yes yes I love to imagine how some 15 year old try to figure what a White Anglo Saxon Protestant is...”

LOL...yea I'm inspiring :tomato: :innocent:

concerning lyrics.....they're like short introduction on how to steal ideas from other artists and selling them as your own art by presuming nobody will find out anyway

exACtly that's the point
being inspired and inspire
it's all about the principle of causality

something else : I've learnt that reading HIM (read: Ville Valo) interviews is pointless to the absurd

Really A LOT of things. Don't forget that I started listening to HIM at 14, there were a lot of things about the music industry and about the world that I didn't know yet. I've also learned a lot of english words through HIM, and been introduced to other (similar or not) bands that now belong to my favourites ;)

I have learned a lot, I guess. I learned lots of english words (through listening to interviews and translating lyrics). And I learned how to connect two VCRs to be able to copy tapes. I learned a lot concerning drawing, since I was inspired to draw HIM a lot. And the trips we made to see the band really taught me a lot of useful stuff; how to get through London in the middle of the night. How it's awful to queue for hours when it's freezing cold outside. How you can avoid security disturibing your sleep at airports. How to find the cheapest flights. How to be social and talk to people.

Ah, the memories, the memories ...

I approve of those who noted that they learned more through HIM than from HIM. Actually, there was nothing I could have acquired from them, while I don´t know the guys personally, I just know their albums, the music, the lyrics, the way they talk in an interview, the way they perform... Well, we seem to know a good deal about HIM, but obviously not from HIM... But I appreciate all of those things which I picked up in this indirect way.

Not actually from them but since I started listening when I was having my teen-age crisis, I kinda started growing-up with them. And from them I got into music that fits my heart better than what i was previously listening. And thanks to them to say so I met some wonderful people.
On the other hand, yes, to not believe anything that "celebrities" say in interviews xD

Not really from HIM but because of them or thanks to them... I've learned a lot of English words and to listen and understand them when talking in interviews, I've also learned a lot about Finland, a lot about music and music business.
And lot of things which Ihni was writing about - copying the tapes, saving up money for gigs, traveling to gigs, dealing with people who try to push you out of the first row...
And I've learned how to make a website... couple of years ago there was no Slovak fan site so I wanted to make one but didn't know how...so I've borrowed a book and started :) I've met a lot of great people, some of them became really good friends of mine

Yes, I forgot the practical stuff that Moa mentioned, such as copying tapes and queuing and travelling and blabla :D

I learnt that being creative and beauiful is not the keys to heaven. There is always some shit lurking in the background!

I think they gave me very valuable lessons in:

- why not to smoke
- why not to drink
- why not to do drugs
- why not to grow moustache or any kind of facial hair
- why being .. "le goth" is boring
- how there is other life out there when you grow up and see that there's more in this world than HIM or being obsessed with Ville Valo's lungs or sexual orientation
- how much good music there actually is when you finally manage to cross the border of Love Metal
T'es formidable... mais je le suis aussi.. Beware of the dark forces !!! あんじるよりうむはやすいむ!
