Many magazines in Finland have reported about the problems in Ville's voice due to smoking.

True, you can compare it by listening the newest album and then listen to older ones. Clear distinction, the voice is weak and blurry in 'Dark Light'. What a waste of talent!

Unfortunately, only losers smoke. It does not much help that Ville has promised to smoke only 3 boxes instead of 5 in a day.

His voice isn't fading either, it's been gone since 2001.

ONLY losers smoke...that's one hell of a statement to make...care to enforce this carefully thought out conclusion with some fact that it's only people who smoke, that are losers in this world...

you know that guy thats just blown all of his money in a casino, has to get his house taken away, had his wife divorce him and he's been fired...he aint a loser....NO! that youth on the corner taking a puff of nicotine...he's the one that's lost everything.

as a smoker I am almost offended by this comment, smoking does not make me a loser... the fact that I have no friends makes me a loser... my lack of ambition and motivation makes me a loser... my love of 80's and 80's inspired music makes me a loser... the fact that I was almost offended by a complete stranger makes me a loser...

fortunataly for me I don't care what anybody else thinks... besides, acording to somebody else, aren't we all losers for some reason or another?

When newspapers have nothing interesting to write about, than they make news , change words and publish same thing few time. Especially if it sells…..So, I really wouldn’t pay too much attention to it.
Soon somebody will marry / divorce and they will completely forget about Ville’s smoking, because it really not some news, don’t you think? :coffee:

There is a way how to identify at least partially with this radical statement - those of you who are smokers and ever tried to get rid of it and didn´t manage again, didn´t you feel as sort of "losers" for a while? Just because you didn´t win over the fags, but lost... Not because you are losers in your lives... I wouldn´t be so offended by the author of this statement
See, if Ville hadn´t always promoted himself as A CHAIN SMOKER (no matter that he is, but sometimes has made too much fuss about it), the papers wouldn´t have used this topic all over again. All in all, he´s being written about all the time...

@ rakana : I tried to quit several times but when I failed I didn't feel like a loser, I only realized that I'm not ready yet. The statement made by the topic starter (don't remember the name right now) just appeared a little too radical in its tendency to generalize.
And - personally - I'm not much interested in what the papers have to say about a celeb's life as long as it doesn't affect me personally.

TO VICKY: When I have tried to quit smoking (several times as wel), after couple of failed attempts, I really felt like "fuck, I have lost the battle again" and right afterwards I concluded with something like "I´m not ready yet" in order to excuse myself... But this is my case, usually I don´t tend to generalize... Basically I aimed to present a more relaxed attitude towards the "offending or radical or whatever they call it" statement.

I won't die if he'll die ok, I'd be a bit sad but for sure I even wouldn't cry if he would die! s*it happens in the end and he won't be the first and the last person on earth who died due to smoking... but who said he'll die anyway, he's almighty-ville-valo who will live forever :wink2:

But you can't say that people who smoke are losers because it's just to generalized!
Wel lI'm sorry that Ville doesn't give afuck about his health but he has his reasons, right?If he wants to die and does eventually the of course I'll be very sad but at least he has done something great in his life.
His voice sucks right now but we still have all the grat old albums and that will never change.
