Vuosikymmenen kestänyt ketjutupakointi on todennäköisesti jo lyhentänyt Ville edessä olevaa elinikää melkoisesti. Royal College of Surgeonsin tutkimuksen mukaan, jokainen poltettu savuke lyhentää elinikää keskimäärin viidellä ja puolella minuutilla.

Näin laskettuna jokainen vuosi, jolloin Ville on polttanut 22000 savuketta on lyhentänyt hänen odotettavissa olevaa elinikäänsä vähintään 84 päivällä.

Minun pedaalini on punainen Marlboro-aski.

"Ville feels good again
looking around with the lil devilish smile counts all good things that happened to him lately
- His stylish hat survived 2 years without chemical cleaning
- His facial hair has own fan club
- fans from all over the world bought hundreds of vibrators in his father shop after NYE
- and the 60th cigarette today taste soooo good ..mmm ... "

I've found a short summary of the article on Heartagram Forum... (from TomH)

"He uses 22000 cigarettes in a year, which makes one cigarette every 10-15 minutes (when he is on awake). Royal College of Surgeon's research says that every cigarette reduces lifetime about 5,5 minutes. So every year when Ville has smoked all those 22000 cigarettes has reduced his lifetime by 84 days.

Ville doesn't regret his smoking... He says that cigarettes makes his voice better. A month ago he said to Kerrang magazine that 60 cigarettes in a day is necessary for his singing voice."

If his aim is to completely ruin it: yes, sure.

Of course, Ville has the right to live his life as he sees fit. And there are many chain smokers out there who end up living long lives. But one can't help but think that 3 packs per day is going to be fatal. He has mentioned many times that he looks forward to growing old and telling road stories and bad jokes to his grandchildren. At the rate he's going, he probably won't even see his own children graduate from high school. It is highly probable that Ville will have children one day, and keeping up the smoking is a highly irresponsible thing to do as a parent when a family is depending on you not to mention that any parent who allows their own child to begin smoking in the first place is one of the most irresponsible things a parent can do in terms of their child's welfare. Ville has been severely let down by his own parents in being allowed to begin smoking as well as to quit school (yes, he was playing music when he was 16, but he wasn't exactly out on the road promoting his first album yet, either). As I said, it's his life, but you can bet it will most likely be a short one.

Forbidden fruit tastes the best...

I think many children hide smoking from their parents because they know they would not allow that. Even many adult people, who don't live with their parents anymore, are still hiding it from them. I'm not defending smoking at all, it's just... when a child decides to smoke, it will, no matter what's the opinion of the parents...

the thing about smoking is it's an addiction, it's not as easy as some people would like to think to quit, it's easy for someone like me who only does it on a rare occasion to stop doing it because i haven't been smoking non stop for 2 weeks (average time it take for someone to become addicted), but for someone like one of my best friends who doesn't like going 4 hours with a cigarette it's EXTREMELY hard.

i'm not saying a parent is all high and mighty for smoking around their kids or when they are up the duff but i think you are forgetting or just merely do not know how hard it is to quit, it's a drug, so don't make out it's so easy to just take the fag out of your mouth, cut your last packet up and throw it in the bin and never touch a cigarette again.

You're right. But what I'm talking about here is starting smoking in the first place. It's just heartbreaking to see those you care about being so reckless with their life and health, in this case it's Ville. It's like he's giving a big F-you to those who care about him and would like him to be around for a long time. Sure he could get hit by a car tomorrow (and he almost did on the night of his birthday after the stunt a drunken Jonna pulled), but why increase your chances of a shortened lifespan by adding smoking to the equation?

I agree with you but unfortunately Villes want to push everything to the limits and live on the edge is winning out. One of these days his new want to live to be old and his intelligence have to get the better of his addictions

It probably sounds like a better explanation for smoking than "my voice is fucked up but I'm too addicted to quit". :dntknw:

I used to sing soprano in a choir a few years back. Nowadays I'm alto, there's no chance at all to strike a c''' ever again. Due to smoking

Could it be a flash back from the 70's...reincarnated and all :victory:
I had to tease ya there Grape...my dad has tons of those caps up in his attic along with old leather jackets and probably some classic bells and shoes. Mr. Valo would be in heaven.

I'm trying hard to not jump on the Ville smoking wagon but guess Mr. Valo knows best...blah :lipssealed:
