After 6 years and three albums, Finnish rock band HIM and Sire/Warner Music have decided to part ways.

Seymour Stein, founder of Sire Records says: "It was a pleasure working with HIM, and we're very proud to have been their partners for the last six years. Ville is a rare talent, and my relationship with their manager Seppo dates back to the days when he pioneered rock music in Finland looking after the career of Hanoi Rocks. HIM are particularly important because they are the first and only band from Finland to reach Gold status in America. I, along with the entire Sire/Warner Bros. family, wish them continued success in the future."

HIM's discography on Sire includes the 2005 album Dark Light, which reached gold in the US. Follow-up albums Venus Doom (2007) and Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice (2010) charted both in the US and Europe.

"We're ever so grateful for having had Seymour and Co as the generous hosts on our extended first stay in the New Country. It's been a Blast Royale but now it's time to clean up the rubble and start anew", comments Ville Valo of HIM.

Finnish band announced on its website that the six-year co-operation on Sire / Warner Music ends. The band released a record company, through three albums, the latest of Love in Theory and Practice was published last year.

Entertainment News MTV3.fin reach the band's manager Seppo Vesterinen says that the future will be a record company to report during the spring or at the latest before the summer.

ILook at the bad karma when they were transfer to sire records from BMG Finland . That news did remind me that " Dark light " sh*t . Anyway they gonna make their best , maybe its a return of old school HIM , i hope :/

that names "old school" or "new school" HIM make me laugh or cry...and cause i dont like to cry, i just find it funny.... cause HIM is HIM....every song is just their, no matter if the song is on first or last album... every song has great musicians, great voice, same feeling....HIM feeling....at least it is so for me

That's sort of worrying, but every band has its end, and I don't think they really want to quit yet. Either way, we still have their previous albums to keep us going.

exactly.. It is that way for you,so you should take in mind that others might have different opinions and its not just HIM is HIM..

This was great news when I read it on Heartagram.com! "Finally!" was all I could think about.
Tired of the fact that they don't remember Europe anymore ('kay...they don't remember Portugal anymore). The fact that they're considering a label of their own is wonderful. Not sure if it's a smart decision money-wise in current times, but sure makes me smile. Nevertheless, I hope they come back here.
