Yeah I still have to think about that St. Valentines idea a bit further, too.
I simply love "in the arms of rain", why do you think it's about his brother? Was that mentioned somewhere?

Ville mentions it's about his brother when he did the track-by-track interview

yeah, he's mentioned it several times:
you should watch the other videos for the rest of the songs, too bad he doesn't explain much about the lyrics... at least not the parts we're wondering about

@ShizzyValo, i actually have no idea, never thought about it
i just listened to it and i really don't understand what he's saying

what i've been wondering in that respect, is what exactly does he say at the end of the acoustic version of Bleed Well?
something about descending to the circles of hell for "what we did to our sweet Venus"
"yeah, we're bleeding well on all layers of hell... and it's by Dante" haha, i just love that last part!

we did haha xD
but at the end of the acoustic Bleed Well i believe he says this

"And we start with the circle number 1.
Through 2 and 3, and 4 and 5 and 6
oh and how we'll descend to the 9th and last
Where we're judged for what we did to our sweet Venus.
Yeah, we're bleeding well in all the layers of hell
...that is by Dante"

Another thing that always bugged me.
At the end of Wicked Game.
"Nobody loves no-one"
Is he saying
A)) Nobody loves...no-one. Like no-one loves at all.
or
B)) Nobody loves no-one. Like no-one really loves anyone truly.

its like love is our fantasy....imagination, not something what really exist... like its not healthy...we suffer because we have decided to....

thanks for the Bleed Well lyrics, i knew it was something like that but i couldn't really understand all he was saying :)

the Wicked Game thing, i believe it's the second one, that nobody loves no one truly
and HIMika666's interpretation is quite good i think, although i think that song is more out of spite than anything deeper than that

About the Dying Song lyrics, yeah i think it's dying with life and love... there's always little death's in life and love
and it reminds me of some lyrics from Sonata Arctica: "love is a little death between two little lives"
i really like them :)

btw, i wanted to post this last night but the power went off :verymad:

btw, have you given any thought to the second part of the song?? i'm really wondering a lot about the stuffed dove! and the "those were the days" line
i wathced the Ville talks about Like St. Valentine video on youtube and he mentions the connection between the songs, that there's a story line in there... i saw that video before, but i guess i never really paid attention to that!
would be interesting to figure it out

Oooh, he mentioned it several times.... this feels like a big d'oh moment  I don't know why I haven't checked out this part already, in fact I've seen only some of them. Do you think it's completely about his brother? What kind of sign would that be then. Anyway, I think I can't really take part in this discussion today, my mind feels kinda dizzy....

This might be another great d'oh-moment of mine, but curiosity beats embarrassment, so.... I've actually have seen this bit before but not paid attention to the very first words, and due to me not keeping two thoughts together today and despite repeating the video a couple of times I didn't figure out why they switched from "the biblical sense" to "screamsworks" as a record name:

Maybe this is answered somewhere in the other parts about the album, but I haven't seen all of them and wont see them tonight, and I'm curious, so maybe someone here could answer that? It's nothing of great importance but I wonder if maybe the US market doesn't take titles related to Christianity that lightly. If so I thought these times are over - in the 80ies Kate Bush wanted to call a song "a deal with God" and it ended up being "running up that hill", with "a deal with god" at least in braces. Her record company made her change it cause they thought a song with "god" in the title wouldn't be played by the radio stations.
