yeah I can see why collectors would want it, and yeah I understand fans wanting to get all the songs and not have to buy all the past singles to get them, but I saw the singles collection as that. Seems like theyre just squeezing that one dry to me. And Ville isn't exactly going to say 'we're releasing this cos the label want to make more money' espec when he's getting a dip in that money too. sorry if I seem so pessimistic about it, I prob should have said already that thats just my opinion, I may be way off the mark. But backcatalogue is fucking important to record labels, especially once an artists has left them (and are HIM still with bmg, cos I thought they changed?)

Usually compilations have a few NEW songs that are released as singles, not old songs rereleased as singles.

but i guess it has to do with that CD not being suitable for the US market. i'm just guessing that they might have a hard time promoting/selling it there because of the content (remember that Razorblade Romance was parental adivsory stickered because of Your Sweet 666 ? lol) - and neither HIMs nor Sire's aim could be to deal with the whole satanic shit AGAIN.

^^BMG was never really interested to release something in the US, I think that's the reason. And the EP wasn't meant for a worldwide market anyway, I suppose.

well this entertained me!

anyway i think if people really wanted the different versions they should get what i did...the 'Singles Collection' not only did it have different versions but also new songs on it which i hadn't heard before and the box is very neat and tidy. and it's still around today

Releasing these "singles" is just too ridiculous... I partly approve of those who say it`s just another way how to make money, but the record company cannot even suppose that enough "enthusiastic" fans will have, say, a need to get it...This certainly won`t enlarge the budget...

I kind of see everyones point and I know its probably nothing to do with the band but how many times has "in joy and sorrow" been released in some format:

- As far as I'm aware its already been released as a single (in Germany at least)
- It's been on Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights
- It's been on And Love Said No
- It's been on HIM - The Singles Collection
- It's been on Uneasy Listentioning Vol. 1

It does kind of come across as BMG have just thought "well whats the most radio friendly HIM song we can release at the moment because they dont seem to be getting much publicity lately". I know its nothing to do with the band and it is a different version of the song but still, seems totally random.
