It's not just now that I've noticed, but seeing how people recently went to a HIM gig and despite being online not posting about it, or that a lot of new stuff being posted (be it interviews or whatnot) remains quite unanswered, leaves quite a modest impression. This post may not change something about it, but it would at least satisfy my curiosity ;)

somehow I feel adressed ;)

frankly, I dont have the energy to talk bout the gig, and that's due to personal crap.

Sorry about that.... :( It was only an example, even if it hadn't been, it's nevertheless quite quiet here :dntknw:

I only joined recently, but I am not here too often due to personal life and Facebook. Lame, I realize but being a lame-o (as my teenager tells me) I can't help it. I do try to pop in though!

I voted for "nostalgic reasons, still intested". But actually I've always been interested more in personal entertainment, meeting friends etc. than in the band. To be honest, I'm still here now and then because I like the people and atmosphere and sometimes forget that it's "HIM"club. If I were a real HIMmaniac I would feel bored here, and join e.g. the German freakshow HIMclub instead.

So far "Voted Being here for nostalgic reasons, still interested in HIM, but look at option #1.", which leads to "Oh please, since years the same talk *yawns*", got the most votes, including mine. It's really a pity, cause actually I think it's a nice board, but some things have been talked about a million times (I so don't see myself answering for the X. time what's my fave HIM song), although this is of course perfectly fine for fans who haven't been around here for so long.

I think the same, i guess the forums are crowded by young american teenagers like the heartagram one, and here we are more "quiet" well, i am not sure but could be. :whistling:

voted for "i'm still interested in HIM, but look at option 1"
actually i can still answer questions like what's your favourite HIM song, etc
because i still like HIM as much as always, i don't get bored answering those questions... even though i'm an adult now... or whatever, because i don't really feel that adult-ish yet
but maybe everyone else is...

I just came back here, but I can tell you that for sure I had way more time to post a lot when I was 22 than I do now that I'm 28. I picked the "still interested, nostalgia, but look at #1" thing. I don't mind answering the favorite song/favorite album stuff. I just look at it more as a time issue.

I voted for the 'nostalgia' option. I do still take an interest in what HIM are up to and their music but I'm not the mega obsessed fan I used to be. I stayed on here to keep in touch with people though I started using other forums, and gradually had less and less time to come on here, and just fell out of the habit of checking back regularly. Though it did get to a point where I'd just end up posting in the 'general topic' and leaving..

Have to admit I use facebook a lot now. I didn't like it much at first but everyone stopped using myspace and msn so I had to go there. It is good for keeping in touch with everyone since EVERYONE seems to use it nowadays. Though the HIMclubbers I have on there, I rarely talk to direct on it (if at all). I definitley talked to them and followed what they were up to more via the forum.

Same here, apart from "I had to go there". Also if you look at HIMs Facebook, a lot of HIMclubbers directly comment there on news, so probably they don't really wanna repeat or discuss it over here. It's simply a way of how also netlife changes. Soon a board like this one will be old school and retro, if it isn't already ;)

Still it's kinda a pity to see interesting topics discussed elsewhere, but I don't wanna join a new community and I also don't want to continue talking to myself (at times I get this feeling here, or if there's a reaction, most of the time only a thank you, no discussion), and discussing with myself about e.g. the meaning of the lyrics is so no fun.

I've talked with Heidi a lot about our "HIM past", and a lot if not most funny things happening throughout the years were connected to this forum. But even though there is a new album out and the band touring, the talk here didn't really increase a lot and it still seems like Lee said: a slow death.

I've got to be honest with you guys.
Since "Dark Light" I've mainly been on here because I am a moderator (I don't remember when I became one though), because I really didn't feel HIMs music anymore.
But since "Screamworks" I'm getting into the vibe again.
However, I don't feel the need to constantly follow the bands doing and news.
(unless it is about gigs where I could actually go see them)

Also, I do think that the Facebook-phenomena does kill boards of this type, I've noticed a slowing down in posting on many other boards that aren't bandrelated.
It is sad, because I have many great memories of how this board used to be, I've met tons of friends over here and it would be sad if this place didn't exist anymore.
It wouldn't kill me, but it would be sad.
We're all getting older, we have less time to screw around on the internet with families, jobs and other things calling for our attention.
As much as I wish I could still be that 19-yearold carefree fangirl - I am not.
I wouldn't change the things I did back then for anything, all the people I met, my adventures and such.
But I guess we are all just not the same people that we were 5 years ago.

I'll continue to visit HIMclub for as long as it exists, but I don't really know what to contribute with, it feels like all I have had the need to say have already been said throughout the years.

Honestly my prevailing sentiment towards HIM in general has leaned towards total apathy, aside from a few bursts of intense interest. The music touched me a little at sixteen/seventeen but after hearing more and more and discovering no progression in the band's music over the years, I lost interest.

Basically I am here now because I really care a lot for HIMclub -- even if I don't care for HIM.

I voted for " Being here for nostalgic reasons and not really interested in HIMs music anymore. ", because that's what it is. Like Ian, I'm here because of HIMClub, not because of HIM anymore. I don't like any of their new stuff (I haven't listened to Screamworks yet, so my opinion may change or not) and quite frankly, even their older stuff has lost their spark long ago, personally speaking. So I'm here still only because of you guys :p

"Being here for nostalgic reasons and not really interested in HIMs music anymore.". I think I stopped being interested at about after Love Metal but I stayed here anyway.
It's a wonder I'm in the HIM section at all now.

And yea, the board is dying a slow death. I miss the days when I used to be an asshole to people and everybody cared.

I voted for the first option. To be honest I find general topics much more interesting than "What's your favourite song?" -ones ;) There isn't really so much to talk about HIM.
