Now that Screamworks is out and many have had a chance to listen (or will within the week) I was wondering... how does Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness rate up against their many other album closers? Maybe it's too soon to tell... but let's just do early estimates!

I put two closing tracks in for GLSV666 and Love Metal because I know there were a few different versions released. My GLSV666 ends with For You, while others end with Don't Fear the Reaper. And also, I know that Love Metal's closing track is technically The Path. But mine has the bonus track Love's Requiem, so I've always considered that the ultimate closing track.

Personally, HIM has always had very strong closing tracks. They're very well thought out in that respect. I think my favorite will always be "Love You Like I Do" but that simply because Deep Shadows is my favorite album. Love's Requiem is a close second... I think Foreboding might be in third place though! I love this song...

Well, "One Last Time" is my favourite HIM-song of all time, but "The Path" will win my vote for best closing track.

probably Love's Requiem, i think it's one of HIM's best tracks and i really like the way it escalates becoming very powerful and beautiful at the end... i think it's a very good way to end an album

foreboding sense for me, just because its so different to what HIM usually trot out. I must admit that the cheesy lyrics are starting to grate on me after nearly a decade, but at least they're trying something new musically, if not lyrically.

I agree completely! one of their most mature and epic songs.

I noticed Cyanide Sun isnt getting much love. To its defense, I think it's one of the best (if not the best) songs off VD, IMO. A great closer.
