i kind of disagree with Ville, pop fans are probably as dedicated or more dedicated than rock fans, and the lady gaga was a pretty bad example to make his point, lady gaga fans do copy her

I havent seen the Rock am Ring gig, I somehow thought it will be shown as a video later on Das Ding... it wasn't. But there is a funny little video here:
http://www.dasding.d...faja/index.html
Interviewers should be told that it is not in any way funny or witty to use the most obvious phrases cause they've been most likely used a hundred times before: "Wo ein Ville ist, ist auch ein Vallo!" I'd like to smash my head against something.

Yeah, I thought of that one, too
Weird, I just clicked the link again, there are a lot of video interviews listed, starting with The Hives and on second position HIM...

That sucks. The interview is funny, Migé and Ville talk a bit about their own festival experiences and Rammstein. Don't get why it doesn't work for you, Nad

I so like the choice of songs, especially "everlong" to which I kinda feel addicted since a year or so.... And I think "enjoy the silence" has been on every of their "hosted by"s so far

These were Villes comments about the songs:
-listened to „sex on fire“ while working on screamworks, tried to figure out how sex can be on fire and came to the conclusion it doesn’t work on your own; also that he didn’t like Kings of Leon before that song
-talked a bit about 80ies “walk this way” by RUN DMC and Aerosmith, which he said has nothing to do with “sabotage”, which he thought was from the late 90ies early 2000 (->almost…. 1994)
-had an interesting theory about The Cures great albums related to Robert Smith’s hair: shitty hair = messy album, maybe I got it wrong, thought Ville said something like he liked this amazing thing called hairdo, but on the cover of Desintegration it looks almost mother-in-law-friendly, and he’d chosen a song from that album, so…. *shrugs*
-a lot of people say Dave Grohl is the nicest man on earth and he agrees, mentioned partying with him in some rockpubs in London, and that’s what the song “everlong” reminds him of – this and working on the songs in L.A., cause it was played a lot on K-Rock
-he never met anybody who didn’t like Depeche Modes “enjoy the silence” and was talking how HIM played it a lot in the beginning of their career, that it’s a beautiful video with Dave Gahan walking dressed like a king in a winter-like landscape, doesn’t really care about the symbolism, and if you wanna remix the song in the “wee hours of the night”: it has 114beats per minute
-only like “great great song” after naming the song from the Deftones
-HIM supportet The Prodigy when “firestarter” was out and that it didn’t came across that aggressive like the single is, that Keith Flint is probably a whiny bitch and Ville might get beaten up if he hears about that, but then again Ville heard he’s a tiny fellow and Ville’ll probably survive it
-Roskilde ’96 was the only festival he was at as a paying customer, one night Rage Against The Mashine were headliners and he didn’t had any expectations about their gig, but as soon as they came on stage like 80.000 people were jumoing up and down, he thought that’s amazing and is a believer since then; there are a lot of storys about “killing in the name of”, Ville mentioned the one about being christmas single in the UK last year
-If you don’t know Turbonegro: buy a t-shirt of them, also a patch and listen to their music for about a week…. Ville thinks they’re a true rock band, hopes they’re doing well, doesn’t really know what they’re up to, but says that’s how it is with rockbands: they vanish and then they’re back again
-Ville hopes that the viewers enjoyed the show, at least the music, not his rambling and said he just woke up so that’s his excuse for it, and that the last video obviously has to be a HIM song and we can hear a bit of everything else which was played the past hour: Depeche Mode, Turbonegro, also a bit Foo Fighters….
