It is not so usual those positive reviews to the HIM albuns! What is happening?

Is it really a great album or are they paying to the reviewers finally? :pardon:

It's an awesome album.

Got the LTD edition of the album today! :D listened to it a few times the whole way through and ive got to say thumbs up guys! its an amazing album and i love it. reminds me of the old HIM and some of the songs are sooo catchy the lyrics are very poetic the whole way through and more so than usual. it has a sound that seems to combine all there old albums theres a track on there for all the HIM lovers old and new :) love metal is still my favourite but i was so close to pronouncing this my favourite album which is amazing for a band thats been around aslong as they have.

my favourite tracks would have to be katherine wheel, st valentine, and disarm me :) soo pleased with the album and the production is awesome so well done matt squire and most of all well done to the HIM guys :) i am in heaven at the moment! haha <3

havent really listened to the acoustic versions yet but will let you know! and all the packaging is funky!
Peace and love to you all <3

there was a short review in the Rocksound magazine, if anyone is interested, here it is:

In the 19 years that they've been making music, HIM have established themselves as a major international band, with frontman Ville Valo's afflicted croonings on love and death attracting women in their droves. Howerver, it seems that in a bid to propel thier gothic tinged alt-rock further into popular conscious, on album seven HIM have sacrificed some of their individuality, favouring more commercial, Americanised rock over their darker Finnish roots. Given rumours that producer Andy Wallace was dropped from 05s 'Dark Light' on the grounds that he made them sound "too American", having Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, 30H!3) at the production helm results in tracks 'Heartkiller' and 'In The Arms of Rain' sounding distinctly power-pop compared to the bite of 07s 'Venus Doom'. 'Screamworks...' still channels the HIM spirit, allowing melancholy and compassion to creep in and out of the 13 tracks, but it's familiar territory that's been played out many times before. While metal-based 'Scared to Death' stands out, it doesn't rival older songs like 'Razorblade Kiss'. Still, this is a solid album, rife with brooding love metal and big choruses, but while this is HIM's most accessible album to date it's also the most unpalatable, as Ville takes one step too many towards self-satire.

I`ve looked through a lot of internet stores and the result was that we could order LTD with lithograph only on heartagram.com. I`ve had to order the general special edition with 2 СDs. But whatever I`m happy :tease:

Hey guys, it's been the better part of 5 years. I don't know if many of you remember me or not but I wanted to come by and post my thoughts on the record. I absolutely love it. It's a great pop record. The choruses are quite catchy. I got the 2 CD version and I think the acoustic disc is very good too. I'm curious to see which songs they play, but more importantly what they replace in the set list. Hopefully I'll be back and posting a bit here and there.

I still don't really know what I think about the album. It's fine, some songs are really catchy, but I guess I'm just depressed it doesn't sound like GLS or Love Metal or RR-- even though I wasn't expecting them to, but whateverrr ha. I don't like all the 80s keyboard intros. Too much pop, not enough goth

Everybody should read this, it's utterly entertaining:
http://thenewreview....him-screamworks

Not just is it beyond from being professional, but the author contradicts himself by saying to be objective and in the end getting what he expected the album to be. He gives a fine example how someone mistakes good criticism with plain bashing. Plus he needs to work on his wit, unless he likes being good at dumb insults.

No boohoo over some criticism, but dude, do it with style.

"I am going into Screamworks open minded and free of personal discrimination."
That's simply ridiculous.

All in all, this sounds very frustrated (and somehow homophobic) to me - and has nothing to do with objective journalism. Poor.

There is quite some echo about it in the net. Unfortunately some fans don't prove to be a step above this verbal vomit. Way too much attention for this "review" when you look at the length of the comments. The reviewer isn't any better though. Claims he couldnt care less and then boom, almost a novel of an answer.

OMG, this is hardcore. Just read a few comments and already feel like on a funny farm.
Probably he only wanted to generate some traffic on his page? Well done... :D.
