It's true, there is a new HIM album coming up. In a Dutch magazine there is a little interview with Ville.
He's saying that the HIM-fans will be shocked, this time his music will be more "straightaway", something different than what he did first.

Also something special: Ville is sober!

I hope this is enough information for now, my English really sucks and I'm still learning. (I'm Dutch  )
I'm exiting and curious, I hope they will do a Europe Tour after the album!

Ville is sober since may 2007 (after rehab).

I've got it from 'UPmagazine', it's hard to get in stores. But you can try find it on the internet ( http://www.upmagazine.nl/ )
It's from April 2009, nr 55.
It's not a big interview, but whatever ;D

Haven't heard anything good coming from them ever since Love Metal.

I think she's not, and I agree with her. Love Metal was their last decent album. I honestly have no hope of them producing anything worth listening to anymore... but that's just me :sorry:

Agree too. But I still hope they come up with something good. Barely listened to Dark Light & Venus Doom. Also bought Digital Versatile Doom but..meh, played it a couple of times. I think that's basically the reason why I keep buying their records, because I'm expecting something good. Call me a dreamer..

I think my opinion is a bit different...I actually liked Venus Doom a lot, especially Sleepwalking Past hope & Passion's Killing Floor. I respect your opinions and I can see where you are coming from. Love Metal was their best album and it's not easy to make another album that could possibly be as good as Love Metal. I still find it hard to believe that you didn't like anything they've made ever since.

HIM is around for so long already and I can honestly say that I like the first two albums most, and everything after these to me was not that exciting. I might be wrong but I think a lot of the people who knew them from the beginning on don't like the other CDs more than the first or the first two. Maybe it depends on the point you fell in love with a band. I fell in love with The Cure middle/end of the 80ies and never really gotten into the very early stuff nor did I like everything which was released after that time. So.... nobodies enthusiasm spreads equally on each album.

I fell in love around RR times, but cause of songs on the first album, and I dig Venus Doom f.ex. :D

I like Venus Doom, I love DS&BH and I really love GLV, RR and LM.
However, I cannot stand Dark Light. The only song I can listen to on that album is Venus (in our blood), and thats a BONUS-track!

I think every album is surprising, and you like it or not. All their songs are really different in each way.
I really like every album, including Dark Light, so I'm looking forward to their new album ;D
