hey everyone i have just pretty much bought a pink vinyl copy of rzorblade romance after being after one for a while and hearing they were quite a rare item. i was just wondering if this is true as i have heard there was a re-issue or something? any information on the vinyl would be good thank you all kindly *cjay*

Maybe there is some way to cross-reference the serialnumber of the vinyl....
or it usually says somewhe on the vinyl wether or not its a re-released item.

the hot topic one is bubblegum pink and in a clear sleeve with j ust a paper as the cover in it. and the vinyl box one is in a cardboard sleeve.
only the original one is gatefold.

Ooh I have this too, I just got it recently!! Thought it would be a nice addition to the collection that is growing! I'm not sure which one I have. I got it from Hot Topic, but it's not in just a paper thing...it's in a cardboard sleeve. Meh I don't know...

well if you got it from hot topic then you can be sure it's not the original one!
Maybe hot topic have a second edition.

this is the original, and its in a gatefold cover.also the shade of pink the vinyl is made of is different than the others.

They seem to have a new limited edition gatefold one at Hot Topic, but if you have a look at it you should see that it's from 2008.
I can't remember when the original one was released. 2000? But yeah, just look at the date in the vinyl and you can tell the difference.

Sometimes if you're really lucky you can find an original on ebay!

Hey thanks for all the info!! I think they might have came out with a dif version, not sure. I'll have to get it out and look at it. What do you mean by the color? Like a dif color of pink or what? If I'm not mistaken, there's a blue version too, right? Again, thanks for all the help!!

There isn't a blue vinyl. This is the first I hear of it.

The three versions have different pink vinyls. But I saw hot topic have a new one, i haven't seen that one in person yet, so I don't know what color that is exactly.
But you can easily tell which one it is by the date on it.

Maja's right its a new version, another one to buy! Im pretty sure the original came out in 2000, the pink vinyl from hot topic with the plastic cover and paper inlay was round about when ALSN came out if I remeber rightly, mines packed away at the moment so cant check.

I was actually talking about a blue RR CD...not vinyl...I should've specified.

Okay mine's the new one from 2008 (The limited edition gate-fold)....but who cares? I still love it and I think it's still a rare item. Key word here being "limited" edition. I so love it though!! I may try for an older one, one of these days. I was so surprised though when I got it. There was only ONE in the entire vinyl section in the store AND I've never seen them there before, ever. And I always look when I go, I make my first stop at the vinyls, in case. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I saw it! It's very hot! So I consider myself very lucky to have it, even if it's not the old one. I'd be lucky if I got my hands on one of those, and I probably won't. But it's not the end of the world to me, really. It's the band themselves and their music that's the important thing here. I really don't mind how big or little HIM collections are, that's why I was pissed off that most of the five people that won that contest on Heartagram to meet them, said that the reason why they were the biggest fans was because of all the HIM stuff they have. That's rediculous. Anyway, I'm not mad at you guys...just at the unfair contest. Don't ask, I don't even know why I brought it up...LOL!! I'm just in a crazy mood...hehehe

Now, as I asked before, what do you mean about a dif color? Do you mean a dif shade of pink or what? I can't really tell the difference between the original and mine, the color really isn't THAT different. Of course that IS a picture, I'm sure it might look different in person.

yeah different shade of pink. I havent seen the new one so I dunno what its like.
But the first edition is a different shade than the hot topic and the vinyl box one.

I hope you actually listen to that vinyl.
Because there's no point in buying them just to collect them (i could go off in a rant about that as you did about the competition )
music sounds much better on vinyl... LISTEN TO IT!

I think the newer is a lighter shade...but it's really hard to tell the difference between it and the one in the pic. I'd like to have them all eventually...that would be sweet!

Oh I will!! I'm planning on bringing it to my friend's place, she has a record player. I'm dying to hear how it sounds. (LOL I didn't mean to rant like that, I haven't even thought of that competition thing in forever. But I watched D.V.D. the other day and it reminded me. Oh but you could go ahead and rant, I'd rant along with you because I totally agree!) I will definitely listen...I've been planning on bringing it over there for quite some time now, but I keep forgetting!! LOL

but yes, listen to vinyls, don't just collect.
Buy yourself a record player, you can get really cheap ones.
You can even get one you can hook up to your computer via USB and listen to it like that.

The most common - cheaper than others - vinyls on Ebay write the following: "2004 BMG Finland,Under exclusive license to Jimmy Franks Recording Company, All rights reserved, Unauthorized bla bla bla.." and it has pink color.
On the one side is RR Cover picture on the center and on the other a pink heartagram.

From what I know, there have been four editions of the RR vinyl:

1. the original Finnish edition - gatefold sleeve, 1 deep pink vinyl inside, 11 tracks
2. the And Love Said No box edition - cardboard sleeve, 1 black vinyl, British/American tracklist (with re-recordings of Your Sweet 666 and Wicked Game)
3. the 1st Jimmy Franks edition - PCV sleeve with artwork print inside, 1 bubblegum pink vinyl (there have been some mispresses in other colours, like blue, now very rare, you can see them through HIM Collectors at Facebook), tracklist as above
4. the 2nd Jimmy Franks edition - gatefold sleeve, 2 moderate pink vinyls, British/American tracklist with some bonuses (14 or 15 tracks altogether).
